A Race for Every Body
The Unified 5K
The Unified 5k is built on the idea that every person deserves to compete. Whether you’re running, walking, or rolling, we are creating opportunities globally for people with and without disabilities to cross the finish line.

An Initiative, Not an Event
The Unified 5k began as a single local race in 2019. It is now the engine behind the four pillars of our organization. Dollars raised at a race do not stop at the finish line. They feed a connected set of programs and services that carry on long after race day.
Grant Program
An annual fall grant cycle, running-blade donations, and Hoyt running chair awards.
Next Stride Clinics
Amputee running and mobility clinics that give participants an educational and empowering experience.
AdaptXpo
A disability resource fair connecting athletes with opportunities in their communities.
Adaptive Fitness
Helping fitness professionals create more accessible environments and more effective programs for adaptive athletes.
Unified Run Clubs
Seasonal inclusive run and roll programs turning a one-day event into increased levels of physical activity.
AdaptX Connect
Building the database for our new mobile platform that connects adaptive athletes to inclusive fitness and sport opportunities.

What Makes a Unified 5K Different
Most road races treat accessibility as an accommodation. Here it is the starting point.
- Accessible courses, universally designed events, and socioeconomic support
- Customized clothing options for those with limb differences
- Acceptance of all abilities and adaptive equipment
- Seven adaptive divisions recognized at every race
- Adaptive Athlete Liaisons at every event to assist with race-day needs
- A commitment to creating accessible fitness opportunities in each race community
