Through the support of our generous donors and our partnership with Less Leg More Heart, we address financial barriers to prosthetic acquisition for athletes in Unified 5k communities.

Johnny didn’t stop at his own blade. He raised nearly $2,000 for AdaptX. That was enough to gift another blade to the next recipient.
We are so grateful for the continued partnership with Johnny’s prosthetists at New Beginnings in Warwick, helping us identify recipients and grow our Unified 5k in Rhode Island.

We want to thank the team at Ability Ottobock.care in Central PA for their continued partnership and for playing an essential role in launching our inaugural Next Stride Amputee Running and Mobility clinic. Mike attended Next Stride Mechanicsburg in spring 2026 and left as one of this year’s running blade recipients. Watch his story below.

Andrew had his right leg amputated at 9 months old. He has always been an athlete, with a long love of weightlifting and powerlifting. He found running in his early 30s and is training towards a goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. He hopes to inspire his kids to take on any challenges they face. AdaptX was proud to give Andrew a running blade at our 2025 Mechanicsburg Unified 5K and watch him chase his goals.

Brandon is a new below-knee amputee. His donated blade let him run again for the first time in over five years.
As a new below-knee amputee, receiving a donated running foot gave me back something I thought I had lost forever—the ability to run. Thanks to the generosity of the Unified 5k and Less Leg More Heart, I was able to participate in a charity run—my first time running in over five years. I’m deeply grateful for their support and for helping people like me rediscover movement, hope, and purpose.
